Today I'm selling again.  I sell everyday.  When I was on the phone with a particularly difficult customer, I realized that everyone is basically trying to sell something.  I want her to buy what I have: I'm selling not only my product but myself as well.  This is an important key that many people don't know-you are always at least selling yourself. (Not that way, get your mind out of the gutter!)  Anyway, the lady was trying to sell me!  She was trying to sell me that she didn't need or want what I had to offer, so the test of wills is basically who sells who.  I'm glad to say that I won on that particular lady, but I lost on many others today.  Its a fact of life in sales that sometimes you are doing great, other days you are doing ok, and some days, hopefully few, you do badly.  This is a fact of life in sales:  Sometimes you can do no wrong, sometimes no matter what you do it turns out badly.  You know what this means?  That sales is a difficult and unpredictable way of life?  Absolutely!  But what it really means is that you have to do your best with every prospect regardless of how your day is going.  The best salespeople are not the ones with a "magic" gift- it doesn't exist, but the ones who take their lumps and don't give up.  That is also true in life, where you are trying to sell yourself to others around you.  Now, if you think you're not in sales, maybe you're a desk jockey or a construction worker, you're still in sales.  Because... you are selling your services to another.  If you have a bad attitude and can't connect with people, believe me, your paycheck will show it.  Those who can empathize and connect with others are the ones who get raises, more sales, more boyfriends/girlfriends, and ... more sales.  If you want to increase your sales skill, please check out my articles on self-improvement and check out the reading list.  Some of them can be downloaded for free in pdf format.  close, close, close!

No, I'm not a dummy and I'm sure no one looking at my site is a dummy either.  But Today I was reviewing real estate terms that I have in my study guide for getting your real estate license, and I realized that a lot of these terms might be difficult to remember.  I was reviewing the study guide for posting to my real estate page.  When I took my RE test, one of the things I noticed was that even though I understood all the concepts with real estate law, sometimes the vocabulary screwed me up, so I made it a point to study all the vocab hard so I wouldn't look the fool when speaking with a client.  Nothing inspires confidence like  'uh... uh... whats the word im looking for.. uh, oh yeah, real estate terms for dummies, thats right.  So if you want to ace the exams, STUDY THE VOCAB HARD!

What an excellent title, I was thinking that when I was trying to describe what this site is about to my dad.  Instead of explaining it, please come check it out.  Today I am selling big time and I still have time to post some more info to the site.  I posted book reviews of my favorite self-help books along with some links to the free pdf files.  But I'm wondering, Am I trying to have too many different topics on my site?  I've got three so far, and threw out the one about living and working in Japan, maybe I can make another site about that.  I am also going to make a new blog entry and an article at least once a day.  I was reading on StevePavlina.com that the best way to drive traffic to your site is by writing original, quality articles.  I've also found some sites about blog sharing where you can post your own bloq and you read other blogs and they guarantee to read yours.  I might check that out, but would rather get links from other similiar sites.  As far as I know, My Road To Success is the only one about getting licensed and beginning a real estate career in Tarpon Springs, FL.  I'll keep writing and let you know what I find.

This is my first post (well not really, I made one before but I messed it all up) so lets get started... this is my blog and website I put up for a few reasons.  The main reason is to help me understand the direction I'm taking regarding my real estate career.  I also wanted to share with others some of the great and wonderful things I've learned, I've done, and I am doing now.  I hope others find this helpful in small way to their own lives.  I also put it up to experiment with web commerce, which I'm a newbie at, so if you see ads on any of these pages, feel free to click on them!  Anyway, enjoy!
